British Soap Awards 2022: Julia Goulding reveals she’s pregnant with her second child

Julia Goulding has revealed she is pregnant with her second child as she debuted her growing bump at the 2022 British Soap Awards’ red carpet on Saturday.

The Coronation Street actress looked radiant at the bash, which was held at London’s Hackney Empire.

The beauty, 37, donned a figure-hugging black velvet gown, which featured a bardot neckline and a swirl line design.

She paired the floor-length number with open-toed heels, keeping accessories to a minimum as she sported a pair of dainty drop earrings.

Cradling her baby bump, the brunette had her dark locks swept away in a bun, with two pieces left down to frame her face.

Julia went bold for her makeup look with a bright red lip, making her green eyes pop as she beamed for snaps on the carpet.

Julia and her husband Ben Silver previously welcomed their first child, named Franklin Wolf Silver, in 2019.

And set to become a mother for the second time, the actress appeared in high spirits as she beamed at the event.

The star plays Shona Platt in Coronation Street, with the show hoping to scoop up some awards at the bash – as they battle it out with Doctors, EastEnders, Emmerdale and Hollyoaks within 14 categories.

The awards are either voted for by a panel of expert judges or the public, with fans able to choose their favorites for Best British Soap, Best Leading Performer and Best Family categories.

Corrie will no doubt be hoping to scoop gongs for their harrowing hate crime storyline which saw Seb Franklin and Nina Lucas attacked, ultimately resulting in Seb’s death.

The awards show has returned to ITV for the first time in two years – after the 2020 and 2021 ceremonies were cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

And in a switch up, it was reported earlier this year that The British Soap Awards opted to axe the male and female categories.

Instead of Best Actor and Actress, stars from much-loved British soaps will battle it out for the newly-created new Best Leading Performer award.

The move follows The Brits which scrapped gender classifications this year, with Adele beating Ed Sheeran to Artist of the Year.
