COLUMBUS, Ohio - A Republican screening committee of state representatives has interviewed a dozen candidates who want to serve the 98th House District -- a job State Sen. Tim Grendell rejected despite winning election to the House last month.

While the committee considered its selection, Grendell, a Republican from Chesterland, faced mounting criticism this week for his decision to remain in the Ohio Senate, resulting in a testy dialogue with Ohio GOP's chairman.
