GOP Independent Expenditure Effort Unveiled, But What About Dave Yost?

Some GOP heavyweights have unveiled an independent expenditure effort (TAME PAC) that is apparently tasked to help the GOP take back Ohio's Secretary of State office.  Jeanette Moll , a two time candidate for Congress from Eastern Ohio is the chair and Matt Dole , an employee of Mark Weaver's Communications Counsel is the treasurer.

I'm all in favor of doing everything needed to elect Jon Husted and gain back the Secretary of State's office from the D's.  But here are two things that I don't understand.  First, according to the website this PAC will not accept corporate contributions or individual contributions in excess of current statewide limits.

My question is why the heck not?  With the Citizens United decision from the United States Supreme Court, corporations and individuals are free to make unlimited donations to groups that run independent expenditure campaigns in support of or opposition to candidates at any level of government.

Second, and more importantly, why an independent expenditure campaign to help Jon Husted?  If there is such a thing as a sure thing in politics in 2010, surely Jon Husted is it.  The problem comes in for the GOP if both John Kasich and Dave Yost don't get elected.

Kasich has plenty of independent expenditure help from the Republican Governors Association , its Dave Yost that needs the help and money.  GOP heavyweights should be spending all of their time and effort on the State Auditor's race, where its really needed.
