Another Week, Another Shitty RGA Ad for John Kasich

I can envision the meeting like I was there.  A young, dynamic, new media team is interviewing to get the ad work for the Republican Governors Association.  They talk about how they're doing political ads that no one else is doing, anywhere, anywhere!!  Their ads are chatty, down to earth, and involve real people talking in real places, about real issues that matter.  Bla, bla, bla, bla, bla, bla.

UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUURCH!!

Pardon me while I stop and vomit in my trash can.

We're talking about political ads here people, not creating the next West Wing or Lost.  Political ads, political mail, political phone calls differ slightly, but overall they have similar characteristics.  They do so because these tried and true formulas work.

The latest RGA ad attacking Ted Strickland simply does not.

Like the two ads before, this one doesn't grab your attention.  It doesn't keep you from flippin the channel.  Hell, you can't even tell whether its going to be an ad for coffee, feminine products, or hemorrhoid relief.

Where are the scary voices?

Where are the scrolling graphics?

Where are the newspaper headlines?

Hell, I'd even settle for a killer sheep or two.  A countdown to a hydrogen bomb explosion?  Anything than this.

Watch it for yourself and let me know what you think.
