Dave Yost's insurgent campaign to be the Ohio Republican candidate for Attorney General has racked up its fifth major local party endorsement.  Do ya think grassroots Republicans are trying to send a message or something?  From my email inbox:

Subject: CLERMONT COUNTY BECOMES FIFTH TO ENDORSE DAVE YOST FOR AG

January 20, 2010

The Clermont County Republican Party tonight endorsed Delaware County Prosecutor Dave Yost for Ohio Attorney General, becoming the fifth county organization to do so.  The action follows previous endorsements by the Republican Party organizations in Butler, Delaware, Huron and Washington Counties.

To date, no county organization has endorsed Yost’s Primary election opponent, Mike DeWine.

“Our vote tonight speaks volumes about how strongly our membership feels about this race.  We believe Ohio needs not only a fresh face in the campaign for Attorney General, but also a true conservative.  That person  is Dave Yost,” said Tim Rudd, Clermont County Republican Party Chairman.

Yost said he was “deeply grateful for the growing support our campaign is attracting.  The fact that solid GOP counties like Butler, Clermont and Delaware have been joined by a truly grassroots-style uprisings in Huron and Washington Counties tells me that our message is resonating across the board within the Republican Party statewide.”

Yost has traveled more than 45,000 miles and visited 64 counties in the last year in his campaign to oppose Richard Cordray in this year’s race for Attorney General.
