Scott Pullins: Fisher, Strickland Let a Big Fish Slip Away
News today is that Rolls Royce will invest over $300 million in plants, you guessed it, not in Ohio! Here's the story in the Mount Vernon News.
Jon Husted might be on to something. Perhaps Ted Strickland is spending a little too much time in Iowa, and not enough time doing his job. Of course, Ohio's poor tax and regulatory environment doesn't have anything to do with it either.
This news is a major blow to Mount Vernon, Ohio and its Rolls Royce facility here which has steadily bled good jobs over the past few years. Bad news indeed.

Scott;
Maybe Jon Husted should look at himself in the mirror. He and his Republicans cohorts have been at the ships helm for very long time and no one but the Republicans are to blame.
Sure Comrade Strickland should be doing something, but what do you expect out of a socialist? He is in Iowa because he is working for the “revolution.” And look around at Ohio; the socialists are winning my friend.
But shouldn’t we expect more out of the republicans?

Come on, Scott.
Rolls was looking at eight states- including Ohio- and decided to build the plant in the same state (Virginia) as its North American headquarters (located in Chantilly, VA).
Also, according to the article I read, Rolls "will initially invest $100 million" (not $300 million) and has "has options to invest up to $500 million for future manufacturing projects".
Sure it would have been nice to have this plant, and the associated jobs, built in Ohio- but it's a big stretch to try to blame Strickland and Fisher for the Rolls decision.
