Space's Vote for a $72 Billion Tax Hike Will Kill Jobs and Hurt Working Families

Washington- Democrat Rep. Zack Space (OH-18) voted today for a down payment on the “Mother of All Tax Hikes” when he supported the Democrats’ package for $72 billion in tax increases.  Space's vote today is merely the first step toward burdening Americans with a massive $3.5 trillion job-killing tax hike that Space and his Democrat bosses in Congress hope to drop on America's workers and families.

A recent study by the non-partisan Joint Committee on Taxation reveals that this “Mother of All Tax Hikes” will raise taxes on 90 percent of American taxpayers. 

The Democrats’ “Mother of All Tax Hikes” by the numbers:

-- 1,966 jobs will be destroyed throughout the district

-- Each family will lose an average of $1,667 in disposable income

-- 94 million families earning between $20,000 and $200,000 will see a tax hike and less than a million would see any reduction at all. 

“Space's support for the Democrats’ tax-raising agenda will have a devastating effect on jobs and the local economy in Ohio's 18th Congressional District,” said NRCC Communications Director Jessica Boulanger. “There seems to be no end to how far Zack Space will go to prove his allegiance to the liberal Democrat leaders in Washington, forgetting his constituents in Ohio whom he was elected to represent.”

Zack Space's vote today for the down payment on the “Mother of All Tax Hikes,” shows that he is obviously bent on continuing to add to his list of broken promises (House Roll Call 1081).  When will Space's commitment to raising taxes and killing jobs for America's workers and families end?
