The Pullins Report (TPR) - Ohio Congressman Gillmor Dies Suddenly
Both Hill News and Right Angle Blog are reporting that longtime Ohio Congressman Paul Gillmor (R) 5th District died suddenly last night. His office has confirmed the death and will be issuing a statement shortly.
Gillmor served as President of the Ohio Senate and was a Republican candidate for Governor in 1986 prior to being elected to Congress. On a personal note, I first met then Senator Gillmor in 1985, while I was a senior in High School. His campaign was the first of many that I have worked on. Paul was part of a long tradition of Ohio lawyers that have entered public service through the Ohio General Assembly.
Paul was a good man that left behind a family that loves him and a career to be proud of. His death at age 68 came much too soon. Our prayers and condolences go out to his wife, his two daughters, and his three sons.
